Ustájený kůň vyžaduje pravidelné krmení. Množství potravy, kterou potřebuje, závisí na jednotlivém koni a na práci, kterou po něm vyžadujeme. Ustájení koně potřebují seno, které by jim nahradilo trávu, jíž by se živili, kdyby žili volně.
